PGE Energy Strategy
PGE is developing a strategy for meeting future energy needs.

Guided by the Oregon Public Utility Commission, in June 2008 PGE began a new planning process to determine how to meet future energy needs. The resulting energy strategy, known as an Integrated Resource Plan, will guide resource decisions through the year 2020 or beyond. We expect to have the plan completed by the end of 2009. See slide presentation (PDF) from the first stakeholder planning meeting, which was held June 12.

For reference, see our previous plan, the 2007 IRP.

PGE seeking proposals for acquiring more renewables
In April 2008, PGE issued a Request for Proposals to acquire by 2014 up to 218 average megawatts of renewable resources, including but not limited to biomass, wind, geothermal, solar and wave energy. This is in addition to the 110 average megawatts that will come from phases 2 and 3 of our Biglow Canyon Wind Farm.
