E-manager provides easy-to-read charts and graphs that help analyze your facility’s energy use.

If you're building your own home, review our general checklist and trenching checklist for step-by-step instructions for requesting electric service.

Many of these steps may have been completed already if your home is within a subdivision. If you're uncertain of what's been done, check with the subdivision developer.

Trenching checklist

  • Call 800-332-2344 to locate existing underground utilities before digging, as required by state law. This is a free service.
  • Trench and install conduit and vaults to PGE specifications.
  • Contact PGE two days prior to backfilling trench for uncovered conduit inspection. Telephone numbers are listed on the PGE job sketch, which will be sent to you by your Service and Design Consultant.
  • Backfill the trench completely after approval by PGE’s trench inspector. PGE cannot install wire until the trench is completely filled.

Natural gas, telephone and TV cable may be installed in the same trench with electric lines, as long as the lines are separated to specified distances. In some cases, private electric lines such as those from a house to a gate, or private water lines may also be installed in the trench. This is contingent on separation requirements, clearances and trench configurations being followed. Your Service and Design Consultant can provide this information.
