Who can enter?
Anyone who owns a legal business in Portland General Electric’s service territory (PDF) can enter. The project installation must occur at a business (non-residential) location within PGE’s service territory by the end of 2010.
How do I enter?
You must enter online using the pledge form. View the terms and conditions for the contest and then click the “Accept” button at the bottom of the page; this will bring up the entry form. Fill out all the required fields of the form, then click the “Submit” button at the bottom of the page.
What does a pledge entail?
A pledge is your business’ promise to implement an energy-saving project in the near future. We’ve got some pledge ideas to get you started. Or take a look to see how businesses in your area or industry plan to save energy.
What’s the deadline and when will I know if I’ve won?
The deadline to enter is 11:59:59 p.m., Dec. 31, 2009. Incorrect, partial or late entries will not be accepted. Five winners will be selected in a random drawing of all entrants and notified by e-mail or phone by Jan. 15, 2010.
If I do win, what happens next?
If you win, PGE and/or Energy Trust of Oregon will contact you and arrange an on-site visit to your business to help you identify opportunities for your lighting upgrade. Then you’ll get project bids from contractors you select. Those contractors will help you fill out the paperwork to apply for Energy Trust of Oregon incentives and state tax credits.
