Compressor boosts capacity and saves energy for local manufacturer Moon Shadow Etchers.
Real-life Savings: Moon Shadow Etchers

In a manufacturing environment, you can make a big difference on your energy use and expenses by making even small changes.

When Moon Shadow Etchers in Sandy needed more compressed air capacity for a large project it had just won, owner Tim Frasier discovered that Energy Trust of Oregon rebates and Oregon tax credits would help cover about half the cost of an energy-efficient compressor. And unlike the old compressor, his new one could operate at 1 horsepower or 25, or anywhere in between, helping Frasier’s team use only as much air as it needed.

Not only would he benefit initially, but the energy savings would mean better cash flow every month, too. The choice was as clear as, well, glass.

“When you can get a $12,000 piece of equipment for about $6,000, and it’s going to perform better and save you energy every month for its lifetime, it doesn’t take much to see that’s a smart business decision,” Frasier says. “I was so impressed, I’m now looking at my HVAC system.”
