Simple Fixes
Simple Fixes
Here are some easy, low-cost ways to put the spotlight on lighting savings.
Simple Fixes
  • Turn off lights in unoccupied areas.
  • Install simple timers or clock switches.
  • Remove lamps in over-lit areas when appropriate.
  • Keep light fixtures clean and dust-free to maintain light output.
  • Replace incandescent bulbs with ENERGY STAR® compact fluorescent lights. CFLs use about 75 percent less energy, last about 10 times as long and produce much less waste heat than incandescents.
  • Ask employees to participate in reducing energy use and build an energy-efficiency culture.
