Terms & Conditions
This information outlines terms for outdoor area lighting under Rate Schedule 15.
  • Area lighting service is available to all property owners within the PGE service territory. It's also available to lease holders, if they hold the properties on lease through the minimum term of the area lighting contract and have the legal right to authorize installation of the equipment.

  • The term of this contract is five years, after which the service shall automatically be extended from month to month until terminated by the customer or by PGE.

  • The rates, terms, and conditions provided in the contract are subject to change or modification by order of the Public Utility Commission of Oregon.

  • If the contract is terminated before the end of the five-year term, the customer shall pay the lesser of either the tariff charge for service of limited duration or the remaining charges under the contract.

  • The contract covers the cost of the lights, poles, installation, maintenance and electricity.

  • There is no charge to install up to one span of overhead wire, not to exceed 150 feet, if no other line extension charge would apply. If there is a line extension charge, the cost will be reduced by the amount of a line extension allowance based on the electric revenue to PGE for the luminaires installed. Any applicable installation charges are payable to PGE prior to construction.

  • The customer is responsible for all excavation costs, including installation of conduits and junction boxes, when service is underground.

  • PGE reserves the right to shield, re-aim, relocate, and/or remove area lighting equipment if, in the opinion of PGE personnel, it creates glare or lighting nuisance for another customer.
