With a food processing operation that spans 11 buildings, Pacific Natural Foods enjoyed literally hundreds of ways to improve energy efficiency through lighting. The company ended up replacing 679 fixtures to turn energy costs down to a simmer.

With nine buildings now upgraded with high-efficiency light fixtures and occupancy sensors, the company has cut electricity demand for lighting in half and is saving more than $45,000 a year.

With help from Energy Trust incentives and Oregon Business Energy Tax Credits, Pacific Natural Foods’ investment will pay off in less than 18 months.
