Each business has its defining characteristics — number of employees, geographical distribution, annual revenue and industry segment. The amount of electricity your business uses generally determines your PGE business type.
- Small business: Your monthly bill is typically less than $500 and your monthly electricity use is less than 7,700 kWh.
- Medium and large business: Your monthly bill is more than $500 and your monthly electricity use is higher than 7,700 kWh.
Here are some other ways to decide which business type is best for your online services.
Small business rate schedules include 15, 32, 38 or 47.
Medium and large business rate schedules include 15, 32, 38, 47, 49, 83, 89, 91, 92, 93 or market-priced energy from an Electricity Service Supplier.
Your monthly statement shows your schedule(s) (some businesses may have more than one) and lists the other charges that make up your total bill. For more information, see understanding energy prices.
Number of electricity accounts
If you have a single account with PGE — or fewer than five — it may be easier to manage your accounts in the Small Business section. You can pay your bill online, sign up for Paperless Bill or Equal Pay, or choose a renewable energy option.
If you have more than five accounts with PGE, it may be easier for you to manage them in groups, which you can customize for different purposes. The Medium & Large Business section will enable you to download billing information and energy use data for multiple accounts through a single transaction.
