Hillsboro Green Power Challenge
Hillsboro Green Power Challenge
The city challenges its community to purchase renewable energy.

The Hillsboro City Council launched a successful green power challenge in 2010. The challenge, the first of its kind in Hillsboro, ran from April 1 through the end of June, and was designed to promote environmental sustainability and reduce carbon dioxide emissions.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency also announced a nationwide green power challenge in 2011 to encourage the more than 30 communities in 11 states, including Hillsboro, to use renewable energy and fight climate change.

The Challenge
Although the challenge ended in September, you can still choose a renewable option. Challenge results will be announced Nov. 30.
When you sign up for renewable energy, you help create cleaner air, more salmon and steelhead in our streams and the growth of new wind farms. Learn more about our renewable options or enroll online now. You may also call 503-228-6322 or 800-542-8818 outside the Portland area for more information or to enroll.

Join our green community
When you enroll, you can also register to join our renewable community site, GreenPowerOregon.com where you’ll find coupons from local businesses like Kettleman Bagel Co., OMSI, and Oregon Mountain Community, among others. You can also browse a database of businesses to find all local businesses who support PGE renewable energy.
