When Oregon’s restructured electric utility market opened March 1, 2002, non-residential customers became able to choose different energy suppliers.

Electricity Service Suppliers (ESSs) who are interested in serving these business customers in PGE’s service territory must first be registered with Portland General Electric’s Direct Access Operations.

Currently, three ESSs are registered to do business with PGE.
