Pay Your Bill
Choose a payment method that works for you.
In addition to paying your bill through the mail, PGE offers several convenient alternatives:

Pay online
Make payments through your checking account, either one time or automatic monthly payments. It’s safe, secure and confidential.

For an additional fee, you can pay by credit card or debit card through BillMatrix.

Pay on our mobile website
Visit PortlandGeneral.com on your mobile phone. We’ve streamlined the account summary and billing and payment options so you can quickly pay your bill (in full, or make a partial payment), check your balance and more.

Pay by text message
Register your mobile phone for our two-way text service and you’ll be able to get your outstanding balance, pay your bill and conduct other transactions on your phone.

Please note: Two-way texting currently only accommodates paying your full amount due. If you’d like to submit a partial payment, you’ll need to use one of our other payment options.

Pay in person
You can pay your bill in person at any of PGE’s Community Offices. For an additional fee, you can also pay at Western Union® locations or Vcom® ATM kiosks at participating 7-Eleven stores.

Pay by phone
You can pay your bill using PGE’s automated telephone system through your checking account.

  • Paying through your checking account is free (for an additional fee you can pay by debit card or credit card).
  • You will need your PGE account number from the upper right-hand corner of your bill.
  • You will need the nine-digit bank routing number and your checking account number. See an example of a check.

Pay by gift card
PGE gift cards, available in values of $10 and more, can be purchased and redeemed at one of PGE’s Customer Service locations. To pay your bill with a gift card, just include the card number on your bill stub. Please don’t include the card.
