This page describes the PGE payment plans available.
Equal Pay
We recommend this billing option if you’ve been with PGE more than 12 months.
A typical electric bill can experience some dramatic ups and downs as electricity needs change during the year. PGE’s Equal Pay option evens out your monthly bill so you make the same payment every month. It’s predictable and easier on your budget.
Here’s how it works: We figure an average payment based on past usage. That average becomes your monthly payment. You’ll still know exactly how much electricity you’re using because your bill will show both your actual usage and your Equal Pay amount.
After 12 months we review your actual electric use to determine the Equal Pay amount for the next 12 months. If your actual use differed from the Equal Pay amount, any underpayment or overpayment will simply be figured into the Equal Pay amount for the next year.
Residential customers, small businesses, nonprofit organizations and churches can participate in Equal Pay, providing all electric bills are current.

Average Pay
We recommend this billing option if you’ve just moved or you are a new PGE customer.
Our Average Pay plan will even out the seasonal ups and downs in your monthly bill. With Average Pay, your payment amount is recalculated and adjusted slightly every month to always reflect your most recent average for up to 12 months. This way, the average amount you pay becomes more accurate as the year goes on.

Regular Monthly Billing
You’ll be billed for the electricity you use each month.
Each month PGE sends a bill for the amount of energy your household has used. Payment is due 15 days after the bill is mailed.
You can send your payment by mail or pay your bill in person at one of PGE’s Community Offices listed on the back of your bill. See our listing of office locations, directions and operating hours.
PGE has also set up Express Pay locations to accept your payments in grocery, hardware stores, pharmacies and other convenient places in your neighborhood. Using PGE’s Express Pay is simple, fast and free. See our listing of PGE’s Express Pay locations.
Switch to traditional billing if you’re on the Equal or Average Pay plan.
