PGE is proud to provide high quality, reliable power to our customers. One of the reasons so many high-tech firms thrive here is that we consistently meet or beat global SEMI F47 standards set by the semiconductor industry. In fact, our business customers ranked PGE highest in the western region for overall customer satisfaction in a 2012 study by J.D. Power & Associates. Power quality and reliability was one of the key metrics upon which this ranking was based.
High reliability needs? We’ve got you covered
Beyond our high standards for power quality and reliability for all our customers, PGE also offers three Reliability Centers throughout the region to serve power-sensitive firms — from semiconductor plants and high-technology operations to diverse manufacturing facilities — where uninterrupted service is critical to operations. Electric reliability standards in these areas meet or exceed industry-set specifications.
A range of options
How sensitive are your manufacturing processes to voltage sags and other electrical fluctuations? PGE provides many customized solutions to meet your needs. You can view our quarterly report (PDF) to see how we’re meeting or exceeding SEMI F47 standards.
Lightning rarely strikes here
Though we’re known for our rain, Northwest Oregon has among the lowest incidence of lightning in the nation — and nothing knocks out power faster than lighting. In PGE’s service area, annual recorded lightning strikes average between 0 and 0.25 per square kilometer. See a nationwide lightning incidence map (PDF) for regional comparisons.
Extra peace of mind — on our dime
With the Dispatchable Standby Generation program, PGE covers the cost of most maintenance and typically pays for all fuel for your generators in exchange for using them to meet peak power demands for up to 400 hours annually. Your generator is always available to back up your facility, operates in parallel with PGE power so there is no service interruption, and helps keep overall power costs lower by helping PGE meet demand at peak times.
