Energy Trust of Oregon Incentives
Up to $100 in savings
on premium efficiency
clothes washers

In the market for a new clothes washer? Energy Trust of Oregon, is offering $75 or $100 cash back on the purchase of premium efficiency ENERGY STAR® qualified clothes washers. All ENERGY STAR qualified clothes washers with a Modified Energy Factor of 2.0 or higher purchased between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2008, are eligible for the mail-in incentive.

Savings with a spin. $75 or $100 cash back on premium efficiency clothes washers.

While all ENERGY STAR qualified clothes washers are efficient, helping you save money on utility bills, premium efficiency models will help you save even more. In addition, premium efficiency clothes washers may also qualify for an Oregon Department of Energy tax credit of $115 to $180, for combined savings of up to $255.

Incentives for single family and manufactured homes with electric heat

  • Windows: Windows: $2.25 per sq. ft. (U-value = 0.30 or less) on new energy efficient windows. Window incentives require an additional measure to be installed, excluding an electric water heater, duct insulation and duct/air leakage test.

  • Insulation: Ceiling = $.25 per sq. ft.; Floor = $.45 per sq. ft.; Wall = $.30 per sq. ft.

  • Air sealing: Up to $400 ($1 per CFM reduction); blower door test required

  • Air Leakage Test: $50 (blower door test required)

  • New high-efficiency heat pumps: Up to $200 for minimum efficiency HSPF 8.5 heat pump upgrade or $400 for electric furnace replacement; up to $150 for minimum efficiency HSPF 8.2 heat pump upgrade or $300 for electric furnace replacement. $300 to $430 Oregon Energy Tax Credit also available.

  • Duct insulation: 50 percent of cost, up to $100

  • Duct sealing: Up to $400 ($1 per CFM reduction); $250 Oregon tax credit also available. Duct sealing must be done by an Oregon Department of Energy certified duct contractor (PDF*).

  • Duct leakage test: $50

  • Compact Fluorescent Lightbulbs: Specialty CFLs for as low as $0.97 at participating retailers through Sept. 30, 2008.

  • High-efficiency electric water heaters: $75 incentive for Marathon Storage Type water heaters with an Energy Factor (EF) rating of 0.94 or better; $35 incentive for Conventional Storage Type water heaters with an EF of 0.93 or better.


  • Solar Water Heater: Up to $1,500 (average incentive is $500).

  • Solar Electric System: Up to $10,000.

Install yourself or use a contractor
You can qualify for rebates if you do the work yourself. Before you start, be sure to review
Energy Trust weatherization guidelines. If you hire a contractor to do the work, the contractor will handle the rebate process. You may use any contractor of your choice.
