Partial BPA benefits restored this month.

You’ll see a reduction on your PGE bill this month, thanks to an interim agreement PGE has signed with the Bonneville Power Administration (BPA). The agreement partially restores a credit you previously received. The credit should reduce average PGE residential bills by about 6 percent beginning April 15, 2008.

Because of a court order by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, BPA suspended this monthly credit in June 2007. The credit allowed residential and small farm customers of utilities across the Northwest to share in the benefits of the low-cost federal hydropower system on the Columbia River.

PGE has been working since last June to restore your benefits. While this interim offer from BPA represents progress, we’re not yet satisfied with the bottom line amount. We will continue to fight for our customers’ rights.

You can read more about this credit in the Current Issues section on our Web site.
