Estimate the effect of Time of Use pricing on your electric bill.

The fields below have been automatically filled in according to the kilowatt-hours you entered on the previous page. You can shift kilowatt-hours between time periods to see the effect of Time of Use on your energy charge.

The results on this advanced calculator may not exactly match those of the standard Time of Use calculator due to rounding. The calculator assumes that the average PGE customer uses approximately 20.58 percent of his or her total kWhs during on-peak times, 40.83 percent at mid-peak and 38.59 percent percent during off-peak hours.

Calculating Time of Use savings for an electric vehicle
If adding an electric vehicle significantly changes your home electricity use, you may be able to save money by choosing our Time of Use rate plan rather than the Basic Service plan. As a guide, if you drive your electric vehicle 1,000 miles a month, you would use approximately 250 kWh of electricity per month just for your vehicle.
