At PGE, we work hard to help prevent power outages, but if one does occur, we want to help you fast. Thats why weve automated our power outage reporting system.
With this phone system you can quickly report or receive information about an outage, without waiting to speak to a customer service representative. You can call from a friends house or your office to report an outage at home, simply by entering your home phone number.
How the system works
When you call 503-464-7777 or 800-544-1795, PGEs automated system guides you step-by-step so you can hear up-to-the-minute information. When you use this system you'll be identified by your phone number, and the system will verify your account by reading your address to you.
If an outage has already been reported for your area, a recording will give you the following information:
- That we are aware of an outage in your neighborhood
- Number of calls received
- Number of customers affected
- Cause of the outage (if known)
- Whether a crew has been dispatched
If there is no outage on record for your area, all you have to do is press 1 on your telephone to report the outage.
You still have the option to speak with a customer service representative to report emergencies or dangerous situations such as downed power lines.
Your phone number is the key
PGEs system gives outage information specific to your address based on your phone number or your electricity account number. To make sure we have your current phone number, e-mail the information to PGE using the form below, or call PGE Customer Service at 800-542-8818.
