With more than 162,000 streetlights in PGE service territory, we are experts at streetlight installation and maintenance.
If you need to install streetlights on public roadways or public property, we offer two options:
Alternatively, customers may elect to manage their lighting needs without PGE assistance. In this case, the customer is fully responsible for the planning, purchase, installation, maintenance and replacement of their light fixtures and poles. PGE will supply only the power, which will be billed monthly.
Option A: Convenience Plan
Under this plan, PGE owns, installs and maintains the lights and poles (see the list of
responsibilities and requirements). The customer pays a simple monthly fee on a minimum one-year contract. This fee also covers electricity costs as well as free design consultation. There are many advantages to choosing this option:
- Convenience − PGE takes care of everything. We offer free design/planning services with our certified lighting design specialists who will help you achieve optimum results on your project. We also provide a variety of lighting choices, expert installation, and guaranteed maintenance. PGE even supplies gravel for pole installation, so there’s one less thing for you to worry about. Contact us early in your project so we can help you every step of the way.
- Speed − Our team has years of experience, so we can handle installations as quickly as possible.
- Economy − PGE offers cost-competitive pricing. We are also cost effective because of our experience; we precisely determine the optimum number of lights needed for your project with no waste.
- Affordability − With the Convenience Plan, you avoid a big up-front charge for purchase and installation of equipment. And there’s not a huge bill lurking in the future when the lights need replacing.
Although PGE owns the lights and poles, you can select the style that best meets your priorities from PGE’s list of approved light fixtures and poles. We offer a wide range of options, and we make ordering easy.

Option B: Power/Maintenance Plan
With this plan, the customer is responsible for purchasing the lights fixtures and poles from a third-party supplier and coordinating the installation the material in the field (see customer responsibilities and requirements). PGE maintains the light fixtures and poles and supplies electricity for a monthly fee. If the light or pole is damaged as a result of an accident, storm, or vandalism, PGE will handle repairs and/or replacements at no additional fee. However, when the fixtures reaches the end of its operable life, the customer will be billed for the replacement. Design consultation services with PGE’s Lighting Design Specialists are not included in this plan.
Customers on this plan are required to install light fixtures and poles that are on PGE’s list of approved materials (PDF). We offer a wide range of options and make ordering easy. Why do you need to select material from this list? It’s simply more practical and cost effective as we can stock a finite number of replacement parts.
If you do select the Power/Maintenance plan, you can later opt to change to the Convenience Plan, Option A, at a negotiated cost.
