PGE is leading the charge in Oregon’s clean energy future, and electric vehicles are a big part of that.
Whether you drive a car, ride a bike or take the bus, there is a clean, green and affordable way for you to get where you’re going:
- TriMet is rolling out the first wind-powered all-electric buses in the country this spring.
- Affordable, long-rang electric bicycle options are zooming in popularity.
- Electric car sales jumped by 81 percent in 2018 over 2017.* It’s not surprising given that new EVs travel 150 miles or more on a single charge and cost two-thirds less to own and operate than a gas-powered car.**
- Electric cars can also qualify for $5,000 in Oregon rebates and a $7,500 federal tax credit.
More charging options
We’re expanding our Electric Avenues to support the growing number of EVs on the road. Downtown Portland, Milwaukie and Hillsboro each have a PGE Electric Avenue, with Wilsonville and Eastport Plaza (Southeast Portland) opening later this spring. Each location can charge up to six vehicles at a time, with four fast chargers and two level 2 chargers.
